FM 1171 Scheduled to Close on Saturday, June 20 for Multi-car Accident Investigation.
FM 1171 will be closed to through traffic between US 377 and Shiloh Road from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday June 20 to allow the Police Department to continue with the ongoing investigation into the accident. Motorists are advised to use FM 407 as an alternate route. Residents living between Shiloh Road and US 377 will have access to their homes, but will not be allowed to pass through the 9500 block of FM 1171 until the investigation is completed.
A new survey just release places Dallas/Fort Worth almost at the top, in driver road rage that is. Ironically, only 2 years ago, the annual AutoVantage Road Rage Survey placed the DFW area as one of the 5 most courteous cities.
Who’s Number One? New York City. And here’s the rest of the top 5.

One man was killed in a two-vehicle collision Friday in west Flower Mound, authorities said.
Patrick Driggers, 43, was driving a Dodge Dakota pickup eastbound about 4 p.m. on Cross Timbers Road near the entrance to Tour 18, when he collided with a cement truck head-on, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The cause of the crash is unknown.
Due to inclement weather, the Town of Flower Mound Wild About Flower Mound Festival has been canceled for Friday, April 17. The Town apologizes for any inconveniences, but deems it necessary to ensure the safety of festival patrons and participants. The festival will proceed as scheduled from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, April 18 at Bakersfield Park, 1201 Duncan Lane.
General parking for the festival has been moved to the Convergence facility parking lot, located east of Bakersfield Park on FM 3040 at 2501 S State Highway 121 Business, Lewisville. Festival participants will be shuttled free of charge to and from the event location. VIP and handicap parking will remain at Bakersfield Park.
The 2008-2009 flu season has started and runs through late April. Each year the flu kills 36,000 people and hospitalizes 200,000 annually. While the flu does affect young children, adults age 50 and above are the most susceptible group affected by the disease.

Has anyone noticed traffic being particularly heavy around town, even in our own little Flower Mound town in the past day? Even driving the back roads to the shoping center was chaotic, FM407 was worse then usual, and the stores were packed all day long. Guess that’s good for our local economy, but I had to wonder what the reason was. And the only reason that makes sense was the little football game being held Saturday morning at 11am in the Cotton Bowl- The Red River Rivalry.

The Town of Flower Mound will commemorate National Night Out and take a stance against crime and drugs from 5 to 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 7 by hosting a Neighborhood of the Year contest and Police Department Open House.
Neighborhoods that organize National Night Out block parties will compete for the annual Flower Mound Neighborhood of the Year Award. Registered block parties could receive visits from members of the Flower Mound Town Council, Police Department, Fire Trucks, and McGruff the Crime Dog.
In addition, the Flower Mound Police Department will host an Open House from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Police Department, 4150 Kirkpatrick Lane. Residents are invited to attend the event and enjoy station tours, displays of police and fire equipment, a SWAT display, the K-9 unit, McGruff the Crime Dog, crime prevention information, and digital child identification services. A shredder will be available in the parking lot of the Police Department from 4 to 8 p.m. for disposal of old documents.
