Greater Lewisville Cares, a 501c3 nonprofit, provides flexible, hands-on service opportunities for all ages and interests primarily in Denton County. They also have information on a variety of longer term volunteer opportunities such as mentoring, meals on wheels, and much more.

Located west of us in Weatherford’s historic downtown square, they will offer a children’s area, food court, non-stop entertainment, and of course their sweet, juicy Parker County Peaches. Beat the heat with Peachy treats of all kinds - peach ice cream, peach juleps, peach smoothies, peach cobbler, and just plain ol’ peaches to bite and let the juice run down your chin. Weatherford is billed as the Peach Capital of Texas. National Night Out will be held on Tuesday, August 7 from 7 – 10 p.m. in neighborhoods throughout Flower Mound as a stance against crime and a chance to give neighborhood crime and drugs a going away party.
Neighborhoods that organize National Night Out Block Parties will be eligible to compete for the annual Flower Mound Neighborhood of the Year award. The winning neighborhood will receive a street sign proclaiming the neighborhood as the 2007 National Night Out Neighborhood of the Year. Registered block parties could receive visits from members of the Town Council, the Flower Mound Police Department, Fire Trucks, the Fire Department Clowns, and McGruff the Crime Dog. Street barricades will also be provided upon request.

FMPD to Host National Night Out Open House
To kick off National Night Out, the Flower Mound Police Department will host an Open House at the Police Department, 4150 Kirkpatrick Lane, from 5:30 to 7 p.m on Tuesday, August 7. All residents are invited to attend the event, which will include displays of police and fire vehicles, including boats and wave runners, a SWAT display, the K-9 unit, McGruff the Crime Dog, crime prevention information, the Fire Department Clowns, and child identification services. July 19, 2007 - Come out to Parker Square for movies in the square. There will be things to entertain the kids such as a bounce house, air slide and crafts. The movie, Charlotte’s Web, will begin at 9 p.m. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets and refreshments for a family night out.
FAMILY CONCERT IN THE PARK/NATIONAL NIGHT OUT
The first Tuesday of August is National Night Out and the city of Lewisville will host a Family Concert in the Park . The Lewisville Police Department and the Lewisville Fire Department will be on site to help promote community awareness and participation.
