Ok, we’ve all seen it on YouTube or on the news. Drop Mentos candies in a Pepsi and create an eruption.
That idea was taken to a larger scale, right here in Flower Mound. Did they set a world’s record?
Well, they certainly hope so. Over 800 people showed up at a local ranch with Mentos, Pepsi, and panchos. Setting up their bottles, donning their panchos, the countdown began, and at the drop, geyers erupted throughout the area. Much like the land rush many years ago, we note there were a lot of “Sooners” in the bunch, launching earlier than others, and even a few “Boomers”, continuing to run around shaking and aiming everyone else’s bottle to get that last surge of fizz flying around.
The group is expected to be in the 2008 Guinness Book of World Records, handily surpassing the last “Mentos-eruption” record of 504 geysers set May 27th this year in Cincinnati, Ohio. For a video of the event, click here.
