Sheriff’s Department Swarm Lowe’s Parking Lot

On the morning of Wednesday, October 3, 2007, as we pulled into the Lowe’s parking lot at FM407 & FM2499, it was hard not to notice the large contingent of a dozen or so Denton County Sheriff Department Cars, Trucks, and Trailers, Constable’s Office Cars, and multiple Department of Public Safety SUV’s and something looking like a “Paddy Wagon” in the parking lot!

They were all gathered on the West side of the parking lot which they had virtually blocked off. On first impression it looked like they may be running an immigrations bust, and the may have been, though we didn’t notice any Border Patrol agents present. Also in the lot were another dozen or more Landscape company trucks and trailers, Dump Trucks, Cement Trucks, pickups etc. They were checking under the hoods of many of the trucks which might indicate a safety check on commercial vehicles, probably all of the vehicles traveling to and from the new Shops of Highland Village for construction and maintenance!
