The widening of FM2499 from FM1171North to FM 407 has begun. Construction began October 29, 2007, and will continue for 24 months.
The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is widening the existing two lane roadway to a six lane divided thoroughfare as far north as FM 407.
And yes, there is a Phase 4. This phase proposes the construction of a new four-lane divided roadway from FM 407 northbound to FM 2181, a distance of 4.7 miles. Sufficient right-of-way would be acquired to allow for its eventual expansion to an ultimate six-lane divided urban arterial.
