Visit the new AMC Highland Village 12 theater on Friday, Dec 14th to celebrate their grand opening.
Peter Mayhew, the 7′3” tall British actor best known for playing Chewbacca in Star Wars will participate in the Ticket Tearing ceremony followed by autograph signing.
The first 1,000 guests to the theater who take a photo with Santa Claus will receive a free ticket to an AMC showing. There is a $5 cost for photos, with all proceeds benefiting PediPlace, which provides quality healthcare for children in Denton County. Plus, all guests at the AMC theater will receive one large popcorn free with each ticket purchased.
The Shops at Highland Village will be featuring musical entertainment from local school choirs and free horse-drawn carriage rides through the shopping center.
AMC Entertainment Inc. (AMC), one of the world’s largest and most innovative theatrical exhibition companies, announced that AMC Highland Village 12, located at the Shops at Highland Village, will open to the public in December, bringing the gift of the best possible out-of-home entertainment experience to the Dallas area this holiday season.
In celebration of the grand opening, there will be events and promotions going on all weekend long.
Grand Opening Weekend Events
Friday, December 14
- 4-8 p.m. - First 1,000 guests to take photos with Santa will receive a complimentary movie ticket. Santa photos cost $5 and will benefit local children’s charity, PD Place
- 5 p.m. - “Ticket Tearing” Ceremony with City of Highland Village officials and Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca, “Star Wars”)
- 5-7 p.m. – Stop by MIX 102.9’s tent at the theatre for a chance to win a Nintendo Wii gaming system with the all new Alvin & the Chipmunks video game
- 5-9 p.m. – Come to the Alvin & the Chipmunks Holiday Karaoke Lounge inside the theater to sing your favorite holiday tune Chipmunk-style and receive a free Alvin & the Chipmunks holiday wish list card and movie poster
- 5:30-7:30 p.m. – Join AMC in celebrating 30 years of STAR WARS with special appearance by Peter Mayhew, “Chewbacca.” The first 200 guests receive an autographed Chewbacca photo as well as a STAR WARS movie poster Saturday, December 15
- 3-5 p.m. – The Alvin & the Chipmunks road crew will be at AMC 12 passing out free concession coupons, Holiday Wish List cards and free music download cards
- 3-5 p.m. – Stop by KISS 106.1’s tent at the theatre for a chance to win an Alvin & the Chipmunks red iPod Nano
- 7-10 p.m. – Get your free photo with Santa Alien or Santa Predator. First 100 guests receive an official movie poster from Alien Vs. Predator: Requiem
Sunday, December 16
- Open – Be the first 200 moviegoers to show your ticket stub at Guest Services and receive a free movie promotional item
- 1-6 p.m. – Come to the Alvin & the Chipmunks Holiday Karaoke Lounge inside the theater to sing your favorite holiday tune Chipmunk-style and receive a free Alvin & the Chipmunks holiday wish list card and movie poster
All Weekend
- Free large popcorn with ticket purchase
- First 200 moviegoers will receive a free movie promotional item
- Quick and easy enrollment in the AMC MovieWatcher program, AMC’s movie-goer loyalty program that is completely free
