You can know another summer is arriving with the arrival of the Lewisville Summer Concert Series. Join family and friends on Tuesday evenings this summer to enjoy great musical entertainment. Weekly concerts include a variety of bands from funk to rock to polka music. The Summer Concert Series will start on Tuesday, June 3 and run until Tuesday, July 22. Please note the 2008 series location has been changed to Wayne Ferguson Plaza in Old Town Lewisville. Concerts will be held from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m.
A regular of the Summer Concert Series, the Tyler Dow Bryant Band presents a Blues and Rock Guitar concert. Tyler recently received the Robert Johnson Blues Foundation’s New Generation Award, naming Tyler the most promising young blues artist of 2007.
Though only 16, Tyler has been plucking on the guitar since he was 4. At age eleven, Tyler performed in public for the first time. A little while later he was playing at parties, benefits, and clubs, such as the Gypsy Tea Room, Fair Park Music Hall, and Deep Ellum Blues in Dallas, Texas. Tyler’s band came to be known as the Tyler Dow Bryant Band along with Ben and Andy Alsup. On May 5, 2007, Steven and Michael Johnson presented Tyler with the Robert Johnson Blues Foundation’s New Generation Award, naming him the most promising blues artist of 2007. Tyler, who is influenced by the sounds of Jimi Hendrix, Alan Haynes, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Muddy Waters, B. B. King and other blues legends, has made quite a name for himself. Whether he is traveling across Europe, or taking the United States by storm, you DO NOT want to miss the Tyler Dow Bryant Band. The performance starts at 6:30 in Old Town Lewisville, directly in front of the new Lewisville City Hall at Poydras and Main.
