Woke up this morning to find no service on any of my Sprint phones. Now this is actually unusual and I’ve chided my friends on other networks who have experienced reliability issues. And unlike the Sprint of old, their customer service is actually pretty outstanding.
After holding on the line (office line) to Sprint Customer Service for several minutes I knew something larger was going on. When the tech rep came on the line, after the usual annoying query of my phone number, again, and security pin, they advised me that service was out in most of Texas, Louisiana, and Alabama.
She explained that they had ‘towers down’ all over the area. I’m sure there’s a better explanation that that, but that’s the way it is. After about 5 hours, service returned to normal and the messages started streaming through at 9:20AM CST
