DFW Airport Luggage Strike?, Dec 27, 2007

I’m sure we’re among the first to report it…mainly because it’s affecting us personally. It’s 10pm, Thursday Dec 27, 2007 and we’re awaiting a flight scheduled to depart from DFW traveling to Orlando. The American Airlines flight was supposed to leave at 8:10pm and it’s been continuously delayed.

Now we were just advised by AA crew that the flight is delayed yet again…because the baggage handlers have decided they had worked too long and too hard and were going home.  AA officials are looking for people to load our luggage on the plane. We’ll keep you posted…you heard it here first! LOL. :(

OK, it’s 10:10pm now and the plane is pulling away from the gate, 2 hours late. We saw men and women down on the tarmac loading our luggage who were dressed in uniforms that looked like they may have actually been gate agents, flight attendants, and pilots.  There were 3 delayed flights to Orlando and they were just putting hundreds of bags on any of the planes headed that way.

Upon arriving in Orlando, our guests discovered some of their bags had actually been sent ahead on earlier flights, but none of their bags were on their specific flight. After awaiting a while longer at the Orlando airport, the remainder of their bags arrived on the next flight (at almost 2:30am EST for a flight that should have arrived at 11:30pm!)

Frisco House & Garden Show, Jan 4-6, 2008

Jan 6, 2008

Just as the new year launches, we see signs of those who plan ahead.  This morning, it was 40 degrees outside, but as we drove through the Shops of Highland Village, we saw workers cleaning the flower beds throughout the center and planting what looked like thousands of flower bulbs.  Along those same lines, the first House and Garden Show of 2008 will be held on January 4-6 at the Frisco Conference Center, just west of Stonebriar Mall.

Merry Christmas

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Create Some Christmas Harmony

American Airlines has created a Harmonious Snowflake website where you can mix your own holiday cheer, adjust the tunes and form snowflakes.  It’s just another little fun way to enjoy the blending of technology of the season.  To visit the website, click here.

Elf Yourself!

Last year, Office Max offered the opportunity for the Holidays to “Elf Yourself”. This year, they have expanded it to include the ability to Elf not only yourself, but up to 4 of your closest friends and loved ones!

Sure to bring as smile to everyones face, these dancing little characters each have their own personality, one’s the dancer, one’s the wild and crazy, one’s always out of step…you get the picture. Guess which one I was! Someone did my whole family and we’ve been laughing our heads off for days and emailing the link to every relative imaginable! Hopefully you make a cuter elf than I did! LOL.

Now this site is getting a lot of traffic before Christmas and can time out, so we suggest you try http://elfyourself.com without the www in front. It seems to be a little better.

Merry Christmas and hope you enjoy it!

Oh, and of course, someone had to go and “Elf” President Bush and family!  Click here for the link to watch it.
