School Zones now Cell Phone Free in FM

Signs went up yesterday in school zones across Flower Mound warning drivers of our new cell phone restriction.  FM joins a growing number of cities across the metroplex…and nation in prohibiting the use of the phones in school zones.  Fines for violation range from $75 for the first offense to as high as $200 for repeat offenders!   Dallas is also considering a similar ban.

Though there have been no incidents involving someone getting hit as a result of a driver using a cell phone in a school zone in Flower Mound, crossing guards have reported many ‘close calls’ by drivers using cell phones.
