Signs went up yesterday in school zones across Flower Mound warning drivers of our new cell phone restriction. FM joins a growing number of cities across the metroplex…and nation in prohibiting the use of the phones in school zones. Fines for violation range from $75 for the first offense to as high as $200 for repeat offenders! Dallas is also considering a similar ban.
Though there have been no incidents involving someone getting hit as a result of a driver using a cell phone in a school zone in Flower Mound, crossing guards have reported many ‘close calls’ by drivers using cell phones.
The City of Lewisville celebrates their annual “Funny Bunny” Festival on Saturday, March 8, 2008 beginning at 8:30 with a Rotary Club pancake breakfast. There will be a carnival, games, face painting, a cupcake walk, and an old-fashioned egg hunt.
There are different egg-hunt times based on age groups.
Egg Hunt Times:
Ages 0-3 – 8:45 a.m., 9:05 a.m. and 9:25 a.m. (held inside Memorial Park Recreation Center in groups of 50)
Ages 4-5 – 9:45 a.m.; Ages 6-7 – 10 a.m.
Ages 8-10 – 10:15 a.m.

Come on out for the 5th Annual Argyle Bluegrass Festival, Friday and Saturady, March 7-8, 2008. Held at the Cross Timbers Community Church on US377 in Argyle.
There will be a Jam Camp and a Fiddle Camp. Parking is free and there will be numerous food concessions including barbecue, hamburgers, hotdogs, nachos, sandwiches, hot and cold drinks and homemade desserts.
Reserved admission tickets can be purchased in advance online, by mail or by calling 1-888-557-6499. General admission tickets will be sold at the door or in advance after all reserved seat tickets have been sold.

Saturday, Mar 8, 2008: Featuring chocolates, cooking demonstrations, live jazz music, and art exhibits and sales from local artisans. 11 am to 4 pm at the Founders Building in Historic Downtown Grapevine at 701 S. Main. Tickets are $14 in advance and $15 at the door.
