Oktoberfest Come to Southlake Town Square for the seventh annual Oktoberfest.  Almost 50,000 are expeted to attend throughout the 3 day event.

Enjoy the unique, handcrafted arts and crafts booths. There will also be great food, and live entertainment. The kids will have a great time in the excitement-packed children’s area!

Voter Registration Deadline, Oct 6, 2008

Register The deadline to register for and be eligible to vote in the November 4, 2008, General Presidential Election is October 6, 2008.  Your registration must be postmarked or the application must be submitted to the voter registrar of the county in which you reside by this date.

PlanoBalloonFest The Plano Balloon Festival comes to Plano’s Oak Point Park, Friday, September 19th through Sunday September 21st.

Live music includes Kraig Parker as Elvis, Friday at 7pm. Saturday at 7pm it’s The Beatles Tribute Band “Me & My Monkey”. Thrill to Skydivers and enjoy family fun all weekend long, including fireworks Saturday night at 9.

FM PD Arrest Attempted Child Abduction Suspect

FMPD The Flower Mound Police responded to an attempted kidnapping call at approximately 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2008 on Crooked Lane.

According to witnesses, a group of children (6-11yrs old) reportedly were approached by a male driving a taxicab.   Reportedly, they were enticed to the car with money, and the man attempted to pull the child into the car by grabbing her arm. She was able to twist free and run away.  No children were injured.

4th Annual Hogwarts Festival, Kids Kastle, Oct 25, 2008

As a part of the Highland Village Fall Festival, The 4th Annual Hogwarts Festival is coming to the Kid’s Kastle on October 25th from 2-10 p.m.  Kid’s Kastle is located in Unity Park at: 2250 Briarhill Blvd.

Kid's Kastle The morning starts out with "Hogwarts Hustle" fun run sponsored by the Medical Center of Lewisville. For more information on the run and registration visit www.hvpf.com and click on the "Menu" tab for links to forms.

The tour through Hogwarts Kastle, sponsored by Studio B opens at 2 p.m. and closes at 10 p.m. After the tour, make a stop at the Highland Village Parks Foundation Hogsmeed Village where you can play all sorts of wizardly games! This is a must-do event for anyone who is a fan of the wizarding world. Refreshments will be sold on site by the groups at the event!  Please bring unwanted, perscription and non-perscription glasses and sunglasses to donate to the Lion’s Club Sight First Campaign.

“The Aristocats” Live at Studio B, Weekends-Sept 19-28, 2008

Everybody wants to be a cat, so join Studio B for the children’s workshop production of Disney’s "The Aristocats"!  This is an adaptation of the classic 1970 animated story of Duchess and her kittens Marie, Belioz and Toulouse. Find out what happens to them when they meet up with street-wise Thomas O’Malley the Alley Cat after the evil butler Edgar schemes to get rid of the cats. Together, with Scat Cat and the gang, it soon turns into a jazzy, toe-tapping good time. Meee-oow!
“The Aristocats” runs September 19, 20, 21 and 26, 27 and 28. Times are 7:30 on Saturdays and Sundays and 2:30 on Sundays.
