Ever wonder what to do to fill those hot summer nights?  June is filled with a great venue of outdoor Summer concerts and performance from the Dallas Arboretum, to Dallas Shakespeare in the Park to the Fort Worth Symphony Concert in the Garden Series.  Filled with a lot of tribute bands, there’ something almost every night somewhere.

The activities begin at 11:00am with a Children’s parade starting at the LISD School Admin building, a free concert that rockers of every age will enjoy, the Grand Funk Railroad, and of course, the evening will be climaxed by the best fireworks show in town!

There will also be performances by Professor D and Mound of Sound, a vintage car show presented by Memory Lane Car Shows, a showcase of many of our local businesses, and a completely FREE Kid’s Zone complete with bounce houses, face painting, and more.

All Independence Fest 2011 activities will take place on July 4, 2011.

The Independence Fest 2011 Children’s Parade will take place from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM at the LISD School Administration Building, 1800 Timber Creek Road, Flower Mound, 75028.

All other Independence Fest 2011 activities will take place at Bakersfield Park, 1201 Duncan Lane, Flower Mound, 75028, with gates opening at 5:00 PM. (Check the FAQ page for Maps and Parking information).

Thomas won the Gold medal for Men’s J3 division for air pistol. He shot for 997 points. This is his first Junior Olympic Competition. He is a 7th grader at McKamy Middle School in Flower Mound. Thomas has been shooting competitively for just over 1.5 years as part of Team Shooting Stars.

Athletes qualify for NJOSC based on performance at State Junior Olumpic events. The show will run Thursday, November 11 through Sunday November 14. Times are Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7:30 and Saturday and Sunday at 2:30.
