Marcus High School Theatre Arts Department is proud to present Alice in Wonderland, the stage adaptation by Brainerd Duffield. Audiences are invited to the children’s world of make-believe, where the impossible becomes possible, the unreal, real, and where the heights of adventure are limited only by the depths of imagination. The show runs November 5-8.

The Flower Mound Fire Department will host an Open House from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 10 at Central Fire Station, 3838 Forums Drive. The fun-filled event will include a S.A.F.E Team presentation, a CareFlight helicopter, children’s activities, the fire safety trailer, fire station tours, fire safety information, displays of fire engines and ambulances, a CERT team demonstration, and plenty of hot dogs, popcorn, and soft drinks. Southlake Oktoberfest, 10/9-10/11/09

It’s sometimes hard to find a good Texas Oktoberfest in October, but here’s one worth checking out.

This year will mark the eighth annual Oktoberfest celebration hosted by Southlake’s Chamber of Commerce! Nearly 50,000 people visit throughout the weekend festival! To attend this event isn’t going to cost you a thing…even the parking is free!   This is excluding food and beverages, and booth items.

No charge, just laughs, drinks, food and fun. Join in on two nights, Friday, October 2 or Saturday, October 3 at 7:30 of “Free Laughs 2” presented by the Adult Theater Company of Studio B.

Free Laughs 2 is little like Saturday Night Live and Carol Burnett meets Local Community Theater. Leave the kids with a sitter and join in for a night on Studio B! Pedestrian Struck and Killed on FM2499 Friday, Sept 25, 2009

A pedestrian who was attempting to cross Long Prairie Road (FM 2499) was struck and killed by a sport utility vehicle Friday night.

Flower Mound Police Department Capt. Wes Griffin said the woman who was driving the black Toyota Sequoia involved stopped until emergeny personnel arrived. She was not injured.

The adult male who was struck in the accident around 8:15 p.m. was in the northbound lanes when he was hit. His identity was not available.

Long Prairie Road is a four-lane, divided thoroughfare where the accident took place near the intersection of Sagebrush Drive.

Marcus High Thespian Fundraiser

Marcus High School Thespian Troupe 2468 invites you to show your support by eating at Sonic on Saturday, September 26th. From 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM, members of the troupe will be serving customers at the Sonic by Marcus (6210 Morriss Road, Flower Mound) on the 26th. The troupe is raising funds to go to Corpus Christi, TX for the 2009 Texas Sate Thespian Festival for Theatre competitions and educational workshops.

Alliance Air Show, Oct 24-25, 2009


The 20th Annual Fort Worth Alliance Air Show is Sat, October 24 and Sun, October 25, 2009 with performance by The US Navy Blue Angels and the US Army Golden Knights.  Bring the family for a full-day of daring aerobatic maneuvers, static displays of Warbirds, helicopters and jets, simulators, children’s activities, fun food and more.

Police Closing FM 1171 on Sat, Jun 20, 7am-12Noon

flowermoundpoliceFM 1171 Scheduled to Close on Saturday, June 20 for Multi-car Accident Investigation.

FM 1171 will be closed to through traffic between US 377 and Shiloh Road from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday June 20 to allow the Police Department to continue with the ongoing investigation into the accident. Motorists are advised to use FM 407 as an alternate route. Residents living between Shiloh Road and US 377 will have access to their homes, but will not be allowed to pass through the 9500 block of FM 1171 until the investigation is completed.
